NUTURE: Youth empowering Youth in Care

Overview:    
In an effort to reduce the number of negative life outcomes that an abused/neglected/traumatized children/youth will likely experience or be expose to while in and after exiting foster care without a safe, stable, and permanent family/support system, Pro Se Services formed the Youth Enrichment Services (Y.E.S.). The Y.E.S. program provides enriching and educational resources and services to abused/neglected/traumatized children/youth throughout Illinois that reside in underserved foster homes, institutions, group homes, or shelters. This program receives majority of its funding from the Executive Board of Directors and contributions from the general public. Y.E.S provides direct services to more than 300 children/youth, annually.

Goals/Objectives:   
• Improve social, educational, and vocational opportunity to make productive choices.
• Reduce adverse/negative behaviors among the targeted youth
                            
Target Market:
Y.E.S. target market is abused/neglected/traumatized children/youth throughout Illinois that reside in underserved foster homes, institutions, group homes, or shelters.

Services:
Remedial and Enriching Academic Development (READ)
This service provides remedial and restorative academic support and resources in Mathematics, English, Literacy, Languages, and Science, which includes tutoring, homework help, test preparation, etc. Through our Stay On Track network, tutors are able to stay in contact with and provide support to the child throughout their various transitions while in foster care. 

Social Development and Life Skills Training
This service provides essential resources and tools to develop self-awareness and self-management skills to achieve academic success and lead an industrious life; use social-awareness and interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships; and, demonstrate decision-making skills and responsible behaviors in persona, school, and community contexts. Through our College-Buddy program for persons 18 – 24 years of age and currently enrolled in a college/university, mentors are able to stay in contact with and provide support to mentees throughout their college and early-adult years. 

Vocational Training
This service provides career awareness and exploration resources and activities, workplace readiness and employment training, and support services. 

The INKredible Krew Klub
This service provides educational and celebratory social activities, field trips, and resources throughout the year, such as Annual Toy Drives, Holiday parties, Back-to-School Drives, Birthdays, Graduations, etc.
