Alms Deeds Mission Program Due to the growing and difficult economic conditions associated with the American economy, Pro Se Services has joined forces with government agencies, schools, businesses, and community organizations to alleviate hunger and provide opportunities and resources to the poor in underserved communities of Chicago and southwest Cook County, IL. Although progress is being made, hunger and poverty continues to plague our communities, families, and individuals. Through its Alms Deeds Mission program, the organization is on a mission to effectively increase efforts to alleviate hunger and poverty in underserved communities of Chicago, IL and southwest Suburban Cook County, IL by the following methods: • Providing weekly food giveaways to underserved residents of southwest Cook County: Riverside, North Riverside, Stickney, Lyons, Cicero, Berwyn, McCook, Brookfield, LaGrange, Countryside, and Chicago, IL; • Providing bi-weekly/monthly hot meals/bag lunches, toiletries, and financial assistance to individuals living at street-level poverty in downtown Chicago and southwest Cook County, IL; • Hosting bi-weekly/monthly community-based health, vocational, and educational seminars and workshops • Hosting bi-weekly/monthly community fairs/events that provide awareness and knowledge to the homeless and poor of available supportive resources and services in their communities • Hosting school supply drives • Hosting holiday drives.
